Its construction included the recovery of public space nearby. The building is linked to the street through commercial premises on first floor. A plaza were completely renewed. Through balconies, homes maintain a close link with open areas: more eyes on public space to make it safer.
Construction processes were reduced to a minimum to generate an honest architecture with quick execution. Care was taken not to use more energy than necessary.
The dwellings transmit tranquility through the range of the materials used. Furniture pieces were either designed by the firm or chosen for design, functionality or simplicity.
Today, the building is inhabited by diverse types of people. Residents mingle with new inhabitants and foreign travelers, generating a new dynamic and connections in the neighborhood.
DOMUS PEEPEM has no greater pretension than to offer well-built, compact comfortable housing that contributes to the regeneration of a local area from a global city. Efficient, genuine, small but significant, its purpose is to generate a model of regeneration that can be extrapolated to other cities in Latin America.
