French Tech Hall
The French-Tech hall is a place of professional activity situated in the heart of the future Cambarérès district, the new urban center dedicated to innovation in Montpellier. It is meant to host young developing companies, and encourage encounters between associations and the various actors of the city’s innovative ecosystem. Workspaces are conceived to be flexible, attractive and self-evolving. The building takes the shape of an inner landscape whose chessboard plan alternates open floors, patios and large event spaces, such as the entrance hall and the inhabited roof. This interior landscape is meant to answer the needs and desires of a new generation of « makers » sharing the same culture of computer games, digital universes and network collaboration. In this culture, playing and working are part of the same activity. The building is imagined as the iconic place of this generation of young entrepreneurs, while responding to a very low budget implying the creating use of rudimentary construction technics.
