Laura Alvim Cultural Center
The building where Laura Alvim Cultural Center is located was built in 1910 for residential use. Today it is an important cultural center with cinemas, theater, café, bookstore and a gallery. Throughout its existence the building underwent several modifications and additions without having never undergone a transformation that affirmed its character of public use. The intervention project contemplates the renovation of the infrastructures of the two theaters in the house – the first with 187 seats and the other one with 49, as well as the design of the connecting walkway between the two buildings of the complex.
