Jonndo store is a project that transcends the very definition of interior design. It is not resigned to form the experience of the interior space but it understands the need to blur the limits of the urban space to generate city.
The Jonndo store is conceived as a covered walkway between the street and the interior of the block. During the itinerary there are a number of volumes that satisfy the needs of the client: banks, tiers, testers and exhibition areas.
ARQUITECTURA-G designs these furniture so that perfectly fulfilling the functions that are demanded in a product store like this, they are inevitably recognized as elements of the urban landscape. Their forms, the way they relate to each other and their position in space belong more to the cultural mental construction of the public space than to a shoe store like Jonndo store.
The place has a very common configuration in the ground floors of the center of Madrid: a lot of depth but with a very tight width. The cave sensation that can cause this form of the plan is not usually palatable. To diminish this sensation is recurrent the use of mirrors that amplify the visual space. What is not so common is that the new scenario is designed. In Jonndo store both the mirror and everything that is reflected in it is designed so that the virtual space that builds have a visual and conceptual sense with the tangible.
To give continuity to the whole Jonndo store all the elements of furniture and the floor are covered with cork panels. The chosen material seeks to represent and enhance some values while helping to create a warm and inviting environment to spend time looking at and trying on shoes.
