Renovation and expansion of a directional headquarter with a new butchery. Every morning I leave my home and can’t quite understand whether what I am seeing is an industrial warehouse or not.
The distinctive trait of most of the suburbs surrounding the small city centres in Padua’s province is the coexistence of residential buildings and industrial warehouses. Keeping this starting point in mind, this project for the extension of a new commercial and directional headquarter wants to disrupt the ordinary way in which industrial buildings are designed. The project wants to give back the “domestic” and “local” characteristics to those buildings designed as foreign elements, completely isolated from the context of the location and its typical features. They will not only become workshops tied to the logics and traditions of the Veneto region, but they will also try to build a public space, going beyond the exclusive commercial activity.
