In a glade along a stream in the Halland forest lies since the mid-1800s a farm. After having been abandoned for decades, it now has got new owners who are carefully adapting the farm to its new time and context. For the area in general and the farm in particular traditional materials and systems for program organization, are used and reinterpreted. The existing farm structure is maintained and in accordance with the logic of the traditional Halland högloftstuga, rooms are added to rooms like a string of pearls.
The farm is opened up to visitors through its new function - a retreat with rooms available for anyone who wishes to stay. The guests of this forest retreat move freely between the private rooms with their views of the old orchard, the large, general room overlooking the meadow, the bath house with its sauna, and the greenhouse with its long table. Available for exploration is the farm's beautiful and densely forested surroundings.
