Fosbury Architecture is a collective of architectural research and design founded in September 2013. Fosbury Architecture is based between Milan and Rotterdam. Fosbury Architecture welcomes young architects with different cultural backgrounds and ambitions in an open and rhizomatic structure. Fosbury Architecture has received awards in several international competitions: Europan13/Leeuwarden , Turin , Milan , YAC/Bologna , Porto , and Tallinn Biennale . About: At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968, Dick Fosbury won the gold medal in the athletics event of the high jump using the “back-first” technique for the first time. The Fosbury Flop, an experiment attempted by a mediocre 21-year-old athlete instantly made clear the impossibility of approaching that discipline by continuing to follow the techniques of the past. The Fosbury Flop is not a hymn to progress and invention (there was no refined thinking behind that jump), but an invitation to look at the obstacle with a lateral glance and to overcome it by literally turning your back. The Fosbury Flop is an undisciplined proposal, but the result of a careful reading.
